From Dust
What does it take to leave the stability of a corporate job to pursue passion and creativity?
Kenneth and Hui Wen are two potters that decided to do so. Motivated by a want for a slower pace of life, they took that leap of faith and started a pottery studio called Studio Asobi, making commission pieces for restaurants and cafes, as well as hosting pottery sessions for students.
This project aims to reconcile the notion of what is the good life in Singapore. It draws on examining the materiality of various entities from the pieces Kenneth and Hui Wen make, to the built environment of modern Singapore. It aims to show that no matter what the good life is for you, from the ground we were created, and to the ground, we will leave this earth.
Whatever we create and shape in this life will inevitably return to dust.
